To Saturday, September 23, 2017
Priesthood members of Central Mission Field are invited to come together in a unique opportunity for creating intentional relationships, strengthening ministerial skills, and supporting each other in our collective call to ministry and mission.
The USA Team of Apostles continues to encourage congregations and priesthood to live fully into our identity and calling as Community of Christ and to become invitational, Christ-centered communities of justice and peace. At our gathering we will explore together what it means to live fully into who we are called to become as Community of Christ.
Our gathering will be held at Community of Christ Temple and the Lower Auditorium on September 22-23. We hope to fill those sacred spaces to overflowing as we worship, learn, and encourage each other in our call to boldly follow the initiatives into the heart of God’s vision for the church and creation (Doctrine and Covenants 165:1b).
On Friday evening, in the Temple Sanctuary, we will worship together through the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, sharing in the spoken word with President Stephen M. Veazey, and practicing generosity through an oblation offering. Saturday morning will include a plenary session with President Veazey in the Lower Auditorium, and afternoon sessions will focus on priesthood response in mission.
In preparation for our gathering, prayerfully consider the Covenant Principles for Faithful Priesthood Ministry and Doctrine and Covenants 165. Included, as a separate attachment, is the schedule for Friday, September 22, and Saturday, September 23. Please note: Use the West Entrance to the Lower Auditorium; lunch and childcare will be provided on Saturday with a free-will offering. Click here for full agenda.
